Here's a lovely story called Mog and the Baby by Judith Kerr read by Ms Shannon. Enjoy!
Another week has passed, and of course as you probably know by now, sadly we will not be able to be back in Room 7 again, but I'm afraid there's nothing we can do about it. We all have to do what we're told, and remember that everything we are doing is so that older people like our grandparents are kept as safe and well as possible. We can only do our best, and it is very hard for us all to do everything exactly right. We are all going to make mistakes. I hope that everyone has had a chance to be outside a little to enjoy the good weather, and I have being wondering why we have been having such good weather. Could it be something to do with a lot less aeroplanes flying around the sky ? I don't know really, but it is interesting to think about it. Anyway Girls and Boys, that's all for now. I don't have a lot of news because like a lot of people I have to stay at home, and it's hard to make up a good story about painting the doors in your house ! I still miss my beautiful dog Bess very much, and I miss her all the time. I know that she was only a dog, but your dog is part of your family too. Mammies and Daddies, please have a look at the timetable here for the week, and do whatever work you are able to do. There are still some families that I have not being able to get in touch with yet by phone, so I will try and get to talk to them this week. I hope that everyone is happy and well. Lots of love, from Mister Mulcahy xxx Hello Boys and Girls. We have to spend another week at home, but all we can do is our best to make the most of it. I hope that everybody is well and happy, and being very good for your Mams and Dads by helping out whenever you can. Don't forget that when you are doing a job for someone else, show that person that you are glad to be able to help them. No grumbling like a Gruffalo ! You know the way when I ask you to do your work in school, or to work quietly, and how you are able to do that so well, so if you could do the same at home then that would be fantastic. I know that you are all very good Girls and Boys.
Have a look at the class blog and do as much work as you can, and read whatever and whenever you can, even the newspaper if you have one. And if your Mam or Dad can get you a comic when they have to do the shopping, then you could try reading that too. I always say that a comic is a child's newspaper. Anyway, that's all for now Boys and Girls. DON'T FORGET TO KEEP WASHING YOUR HANDS PROPERLY. Lots of love always, from Mr. Mulcahy xxxxx Hello Boys and Girls from Room 7, I hope that you are all keeping well during these unusual days. It's been a long time now since we've all been together in the classroom, and I really do miss you all very much, and wish that we could be back together, but we will have to do what we're told and stay at home for another while yet. Like most people I don't have a lot of news because I've been at home most of the time, but I think that I had been telling you about my dog Bess, and how she hadn't been well. She died on Saturday the 11th of April, just over a week ago now. She really was a beautiful dog, and I don't know what I am going to do without her. What I miss most of all is not being able to talk to her. Whenever I said, "Well Bess", she would sit down and start listening to me telling her some story, or asking her questions. She was a great dog, but sometimes she might bite us ! but we knew that was because she was afraid. If I can figure out how to put up a photograph on the website here, then you will be able to see what Bess looked like.
I hope that you are all remembering to keep washing your hands, and especially taking good care of your Grannies and Grandads and not visiting them until it is safe to do so. Please have a look at the timetable here Boys and Girls, and do the best that you can to do some work. I know that in some families that will not be so easy, so just do whatever you can. I hope that all the Mammys and Daddys are well, and that you will help them Boys and Girls by being as good for them at home as you are for me in school. That's all for now Everyone. Lots of love, from Mr. Mulcahy The weather is beautiful! Try out this lovely Spring hunt and see how many of these things can you find.
Here are the Maths pages for this week. The children can complete this work on a sheet of paper; writing the number and answer to each question.
