Literacy

Let's get our brains warmed up with some blending first. Help me to read these words boys and girls!
Now let's practice sounding out and writing some words. Get your whiteboards ready and try to sound out the 4 words in the next picture. Remember it doesn't matter if we make mistakes we're just trying our best!

Read Aloud - Stuck by Oliver Jeffers

Oliver Jeffers is one of my favourite authors! He has done a live reading of some of his books. Below is a video of him reading his book Stuck! It's quite a funny story. Have a little watch and listen below.

Character

We have been learning all about characters in school. A character is the 'who' in the story. They can be people, animals or toys. Can you think of some examples of characters?
You need to get:
  • a blank page
  • a pencil
  • colours
I have drawn my character below. Pick any character you like. It can be from the story or it can be one you made up in your head.
Picture
Don't forget to label your picture and colour it in!
This is my finished drawing! Send me pictures of your work when you are done. I would love to see all the different characters that we are thinking about!
