Maths - Length

We are going to be measuring things around the house!
Find yourself a handful of cubes, crayons, blocks etc just lots of the same thing to measure with.

Have a look at some things that I measured in my house. Can you measure some things at home?

I measured the stairs it's 7 highlighters long!
Picture
It's really important that we line up the measuring tool at the beginning of the thing we are going to measure and that we don't leave any gaps between each one.

Picture
How long is the radiator? Can you count all of the highlighters?
Picture
The box is 6 and a little bit highlighters long
Picture
What is longer? the radiator or the door?

Remember when we measured some things around the classroom using cubes! Have a look at the pictures below, we measured chairs, desks, bags and each other!
