Hello Everyone!

I would love if everyone could post a comment on the blog post today just so that I can see who's watching and if I'm missing anyone. You can comment something really simple like:

  • Hi teacher, I'm watching from home.
  • Hi to all the boys and girls in the class, missing you all.
  • Hi it's _______. My favourite thing on the blog is _______.
  • or whatever comment you like!
Thank you all so much for your engagement :)

To leave a comment:
  • Click on the COMMENTS link right under the title (it's green)
  • Put in you name, email address and comment
  • Leave the WEBSITE box blank

Word Practice

Rhyme Time!

Tricky Words

Let's revise the tricky words we have done and look at the next 4:
  • to
  • do
  • are
  • all
If you can try and make your own flashcards at home and practice them :)

Setting

The character is the 'who' in the story.

The setting is the 'where' and 'when' in the story.

Let's have a look at some examples of different settings. Can you think of some of your own?
Draw a picture of a setting! Add some labels (try for three) and try a sentence if you like. Have a look at mine below.
Draw a setting:
  • Step 1: choose a setting and draw it (pick anywhere you like)
  • Step 2: label your drawing (add some sounds or a whole word if you can)
  • Step 3: Add some colour!

Read Aloud

We have done a lot of work this morning! Well done!
Have a little relax and enjoy the following story :)

The Snail and the Whale
by Julia Donaldson, one of my favourite authors

Maths

Let's practice all of the numbers we have done so far 1-5.
* Get your whiteboards and pens ready!
We are going to:
  • Write the numbers
  • Draw sets of each number
  • Draw something fun yourself

Hi Cian and Liam, I'm sure there's lots of similar haircuts going around. Three of my brothers have shaved their heads in the last week, luckily their hair grows very quick!
