This week we will be learning all about flowers! We would normally have planted our sunflower seed by now. The seeds would have germinated and the shoots growing tall. I grew some at home this year and I'll share the progress they make over the coming months. I grew the tall giant sunflowers and my daughter grew smaller ones called Teddy Bear Sunflowers. The garden centers will be open from next week so maybe at some point soon you'll get to buy some seeds and grow your own!

This week to celebrate our new 'Wellness Support Pages' for children and adults, we are going to do some nice fun activities around the theme of Wellness and Self-care! It's important that while our normal daily routines are a little bit different we can still make the most of everyday by thinking positively and looking at all the good things we can be thankful for! Some of the activities have been tried and teated by my own daughter!
Picture

My News!

The children and I would normally write up our news each week! Why not write your news and tell us about all the great things up did over the bank holiday weekend! Read my news below together with your grown-up. Draw a picture to go with your news. Don't forget to use the 3 W's to help compose your writing. Can you spot the 'who, what, where, when and why' on my news?

On Monday it was a really hot day. When I woke up I decided to go for a treck with my two daughters, Alexa and Sienna. We made our way down to the beach and headed out across the rocks. We passed the harbour and the boats on the way. We like to go for a walk every day because it is important to get exercise. Exrecise makes you feel happy! We had a great time.
Picture

Make your own Walking Stick!

Going for walks is even more fun when you have your very own magic walking staff! (Staff is an old fashioned word for a stick that has many different uses). Why not try making your own staff with a sick and paint! You'll have to find a long stick.

We Can't Wait Jar!

Picture
Right now, we’re sure there are lots of things you would really like to do, but can’t due to our current situation. Perhaps we can turn these ‘can’t do’ activities into ‘we can’t wait to’ activities! You could make a special jar, and anytime you think of something you can’t wait to do, add it to the jar. That way, you will have lots of fun activities waiting for you when we get back to normality!

I am a Wonderful Person!

Enjoy some positive vibes by thinking about everything you are good at!  You can draw your own sheet, write it as a story or print out this template! You can send me a picture at the end of the week to my new email! Ms.Murray@olvinfants.com
The sentence starters are:
  • -  I am good at....
  • -  I am most happy when...
  • -  I like myself when...
  • -  I am proud of me when...
  • -  I am special because...
  • -  I am a good friend when I...
