Happy New Year!

Welcome back to everyone after what I hope was a restful Christmas break. It was lovely to see all the children so happy to be back in school and I think we are all glad to be back in our routines!
We had a very busy week this week... our new topic is CLOTHES and we have been busy learning all our new words! Our focus book is...

The Smartest Giant In Town

Picture

Maths - Sorting clothes

Writing Practice - Drawing Clothes

Looking for shapes in the objects we want to draw helps us learn to draw new things.

Looking forward to seeing how our Smartest Giant in Town puppets turn out next week! He still has to get a smart new gown...

Check back next week to see how they turn out...

DEAR Time

I love how the children just scurry off to their little snugs when I say "Drop Everything And Read!"

Finally I would like you to enjoy our special little project we worked on this week. We did our own little rendition of our favourite story by our favourite author Julia Donaldson... we hope you enjoy it as the children worked very hard on it.

Loved the pics this week and to see Sarah smiling away --- couldn't believe I didn't recognise her reading of the book!
She is not so quiet and shy at home :)

I don't check in as regularly as I should but I do really enjoy it, it gives me an insight to a very important part of her day

That's funny! I thought the exact same but she used such lovely words so I didn't want to record her again. Very cute!

Rada loves that book so much! We used to read it when she was a toddler... Her favourite part in the story is when the giant kindly helped the animals. The funniest part is when he looses his trousers...

Super Rada! I think that was the funniest part too and yes, he was a very kind giant! :)

Great video. Cian was very excited to see himself! His favourite part was when his trousers fell down. That was my favourite part too.

Hi Ms Murray,
Great to see these amazing photos again,
Yo did great work with them.
Also just wanted to mention that Sajed has his home work in the bag since Friday and told him to handed it over to you, but seems to me he didn't, could you please check yourself his bag on Fridays.
Kind regards

Hi! Sajed did give me his folder today, it was my fault I forgot to collect them on Friday... too busy with our art project! lol. He has his new reader and homework sheet in his bag today. Glad you enjoyed the photos, Sajed was very happy with his part in the video too.

I checked the blog, coz Sarah told me I had to! From reading her homework sheet I see the importance 😉

Sarah's favourite part of the story is .... when the GIANT'S trousers fall down .... seems to be a big hit with everyone.

(I'm doing that book in Story Sacks 😁)

Sarah asked that I put all our names down so you would know it was from our family ... Stephen, Adel, Sarah & Leanne

Thanks for such lovely posts. The video is so cute. I have been hearing all week about the puppets. We also have this book and have been reading it nearly every night. It is lovely hearing their little voices.

Alex loves the class blog so much that we read and look at it every day before bedtime. What a great idea to have. Alex grandmother in Germany and his aunt in Switzerland look at the blog every Friday and they love it. Thank you!

Alex favorit part of the story "The Smartest Giant in Town" is when his trousers fall down.

Thank you for all the great work you put in by teaching the girls and boys room 5.

Have a great week.

Mareen

Thank you Ms Murray for the lovely post. Maci's sounds so confident in the video. She did a great job as all the kids did too. Maci's favourite funny part was the trousers falling down the because he had no belt, but her most favourite is the kind giant and his kindness. I have asked maci to remind mammy to check the blog more often. I think we will be taking a trip to the book store at the weekend to,maci's younger brother enjoyed watching the video too..
