I'm delighted to say I have another class of fantastic listeners! and as I always tell the children... "Once your listening to each other and me you're learning!" The children have worked really hard this week as we start to get down to the serious business! Thank you to everyone who brought in tin cans! I still need a few more so keep them coming please.

We continue to focus on our pincher grip while drawing our straight lines. Check out last week's post about pencil grip if you haven't already read it. What I am looking for here is a good strong mark on the page, and a steady line. We were also learning about starting from left to right on our page. And knowing when to stop. Lots of colouring at home will strengthen their mark making.

Last week our focus colour was red. This week it was yellow so we created these lovely patterns and discussed patterns we see around us every day. See if you can spot any at home or when out in the park.

Next week the children are in until 1.30pm. They will be collected from the yard after they have lined up in their line at area 5. In the interest of your child's safety, please do not take your child from the line until we have all arrived and I say good bye to them. They must say goodbye to me and I will acknowledge their grown-up collecting them. If someone new is due to collect them, please let me know in advance. Thank you.

What we love about school!

This week the children have really started to settle into their new class. As a little project we made this little video about what we love about school so far. Not everyone was ready to have their voice recorded yet but that's ok and they will have plenty of time to build their confidence! Everyone enjoyed having photos taken though. It really is all about the journey in Junior Infants, and we all take it at our own pace. Well done on another great week boys and girls!

That's it for this week. Enjoy the weekend!

Kind Regards,

I forgot to check the blog with Sarah today, super busy day, home for lunch, visited her daddy in work, met nanny and Emma for scones and jellies, went to IKEA wheret Sarah played on the large tablet in the collection area because the Smaland was fully booked :(
I will be sure to check in again over the weekend with Sarah.
I really love your blog, pics and the video, I feel so connected to my daughter, thank you very much.

Wow! A busy day! My girls love that large tablet too. Although I prefer that quiet cup of coffee I get when they go to Smaland lol! Sarah will really enjoy sharing her work with you. She was so enthusiastic about the recording :)

Thanks for visiting the blog Ruwida! It's lovely to hear from you. Sajed has settled so well into his new class and I can tell that he just loves learning. He is always happy to practice his english with me in class. I know he's going to do great this year.

Thank you Ms. Murray, for the lovely voice recording! It was great to listen to!
I have talk to many parents from others schools and they are so surprised to hear we have a blog to read and watch with our children. So I feel we are so lucky! Thank you for the great job!
Message from Rada:
My teacher is the best in the world! And my teacher's assistant (sorry, I didn't understand her name from Rada) is the friendliest in the world!

Thank you Elena for the kind words. They really are lovely to hear and encourage me to post even more!! lol. Rada did pass that message on to me today in person! She is very kind, even though I'm the only teacher she has ever had I take it a great compliment! I must teach her the word 'universe' tomorrow haha! I will pass the message into Roz, she'll be thrilled to hear it.
