This week we are learning all about shells. Please take some time to talk through the challenges below with your child. Most of the challenges can be completed independently, with just a little support with the reading. I have added some more interactive elements to this week’s challenges which I think will made it a little easier to manage and enjoyable for your child. This week you will see it is an option to upload your child's "Favourite Activity!" see the end of the blog for more details.

Mini Shell Counting Lesson

Picture
Watch the video of this activity above.
? ?make a number line of shells, stones, bottle tops or paper flowers etc.
? ?make a cover using a larger shell or egg cup.
? activities include:
- identify and order numbers
- point to and count numbers aloud
- hide a selection of numbers with cover
- identify number after/before (advance ability won't have to count from 1)
- count on from... 4, 7, 3
- two more/three less
- matching a visual pattern with the corresponding numeral
It is completely normal for children to make mistakes at this age, it is very much part of the learning process. Try to focus on what they did well, adding some positive reinforcement.
