For our Maths 2D shape activities here is a template to help draw and cut out the shapes
In English I hope you are getting on well with the 'oy' sound and starting to figure out which words say 'oi' and which say 'oy'. It can be tricky but try to remember that if the sound comes at the end of the word it's usually 'oy'. Here is a roll and read for our sound of the week 'oy'. We've played this a lot in school. Instead of colouring the words when you roll the number, you could just read the words on the line of the number you roll. Have a go! If you don't know the meaning of a word ask an adult to help you look it up in a dictionary (there are lots online if you don't have one.) As usual make up some silly sentences too :-)
And finally our Joke of the Day
Question What do you call a dinosaur who is a noisy sleeper? Answer A Brontosnorus! Chat again tomorrow. XX Ms Byrne

XX Ms Byrne Hi boys and girls! I would just like to remind everyone that the new school email addresses are now working. I can be reached at Ms.Byrne@olvinfants.com. You can find the guidelines for email communications/website posts in our school newsletter. English Here is a roll and read for our sound of the week 'oi'. We've played this a lot in school. Instead of colouring the words when you roll the number, you could just read the words on the line of the number you roll. Have a go! You could also try making up a silly sentence using as many of the words as you can. This is my sentence - "I mixed the oil with soil and put it on to boil." Now your turn :- ) Maths I hope you're having fun revising time! Here are a couple of worksheets to help, you can just say the answers. Story Time Our story for today comes from Ms Fallon. When I was a little girl growing up in Mayo, it was traditional to pick these flowers called Primroses and to spread them out on the doorstep to celebrate May Day or Bealtaine. This marked the start of summer on the farm. I also remember my granny telling me the flowers would keep the fairies out of the house. Watch out for the flowers when you are out walking. There are lots of lovely blossoms everywhere. I hope you enjoyed learning your spellings this week! If you have someone who is free to ask you them, here is the list. Remember just have a go and don't worry about getting everything right :-) Bain triail as! Art I found this lovely lesson from our friends in Art Hub. It might be nice to draw the health care worker and put it up in your window with a little message to thank them for taking care of all of us and working so hard. Some of us have health care workers at home who we can be proud of. We in room 15 would like to say Thank You! And to finish off here's a song that reminds me of Golden Time in Room 15 - a real favourite which always inspires lots of great moves! This version has the lyrics (words). Happy Bank Holiday weekend boys and girls! Have a rest from school work on Monday to play with your families. Chat soon! XX Ms Byrne |
