Last week, we started the wonderful book, Farmer Duck, by Martin Waddell. Check out this online version of the story! You might recognize the intro song from our Valentine's Concert which seems like many moons ago! :)

The author's name is Martin Waddell. The illustrator's name is Helen Oxenbury.
Here is the cover of the book:

However, I think you could design a much better book cover for the story! ;)

Today boys and girls I would love you to design a new book cover for Farmer Duck. You can include whatever you want in the book cover- it is your choice!

Questions to ask yourself before designing:

1. Who were the main characters?
2. Where is the story set?
3. What do you think is the most important part of the story?
4. Why do you think Helen Oxenbury used the picture of the duck working hard on the farm as the book cover?

What you Need:
1. A4 paper (or homework copy will suffice)
2. pencil
3. colours

What I'm Looking For:
1. Include the title of the story
2. the name of the author of the story
3. take a photo of your work and send in on :)

Please email your amazing new book cover for Farmer Duck to me @ [email protected]. I will share them here so we can all look at all our wonderful work!

Many Thanks,
Fiona Hiney
