Important Information for Guardians

Hello Room 17!

I hope all the families from Ms. Shannon's class are keeping safe and well.

The most important thing during this difficult time is that we help prevent coronavirus in our community. Children should not be going out to play with their friends and should stay within their own family unit. Please discuss the following poster with your child at home and stress the importance of hand washing.

Keep up the great work. Reading, baking, exploring the world around you, playing board games, making jigsaws, etc. are all fantastic ways to continue learning at home. Any work posted on the blog is to facilitate your child's learning. Please do not feel pressurised to complete every task. You know your child best!

Suggested daily schedule of work for your child:
1) Master Your Maths.
2) Maths topic.
3) English work.
4) At least 20 minutes of reading each day.
4) Fun Activity.

I have compiled a list of "Activities" and "Online Learning Websites" below which you may wish to visit. Don't forget to tune in to "The Home School Hub". The virtual classroom will air on RTE 2 from 11am to 12pm Monday to Friday. Enjoy learning and reading together. The sun is shining so try to get out in the fresh air and have some fun.

Keep well and safe,
Ms. Shannon.

Counting Practice

Counting practice is a daily activity that you can complete with your child at home. The children are used to counting forwards and backwards from 0-100. They are also familiar with skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We were due to start skip counting by 4's so this is something they can practice at home. The videos below should help with this activity.
