Homework Folders

The children are making great progress with their reading and writing. As we have missed a few days because of snow, coupled with school training days and holiday closures I have added a few extra tasks to their homework folders to keep them going over the next three weeks.
Today (Friday), you will find a small writing book in their folder. Please follow the instructions on the inside of the cover. I have also added some extra word boxes into their copies to keep them going over the next few weeks, continues to encourage blending if needed and if they are becoming confident encourage your child to blend quietly in their head and just say the word.

Irish

The children are absolutely fantastic at their Geailge! They really love learning Irish which is so nice to see...

Spring Service

It was so lovely to see everyone at the spring service on Wednesday. It really was a special celebration for all the children. We were celebrating their first year at school, all symbolised in the signs of spring.

Art

We spent two days working on our Spring art for the service! It was hard work but the results were defiantly worth it. Their frolicking spring lambs look amazing! And what great handwriting!

Transport

We've been working on our new topic of People Who Help Us In Our Community. There is plenty of language and vocabulary practise going on here!

Aistear Play

I love when I get a chance to capture some video of the children playing. Because they didn't realise I was videoing them (I was pretending to clean beside them) I was able to video them without disturbing the natural flow of their play. There is so much learning going on here! Fantastic language development, blending and reading and learning from their peers! and most importantly... having FUN!

Trip to the Botanic Gardens

We had a fantastic trip to the Botanic Gardens and the children were so well behaved! We were looking for all the signs of spring. A big thank you to Alex's dad for coming along to help us on the day.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

We had great fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the hall! What a great turn out of all things green!
