(Hi Everyone
Hope you are keeping well, not too bored and getting some exercise every day.

Try some yoga just like we've done in our Room 15 with Cosmic Kids Yoga

Master Your Maths Tuesday (see page on Monday's post)

Ask an adult to check your work and remember even if you don't know the answer Have a go!

Reading
It is most important that you enjoy at least one story every day! I'm loving www.storylineonline.net/.
In particular, I enjoyed the story of 'Snappsy the Alligator (Did Not Ask to be in This Book)' but there are lots of great stories to listen to, and read along to, on this website.
Fun Activity
Try drawing this chick following the four steps. Have fun!
Make sure to leave me a comment if you can!

And a little challenge for you today is to offer to help the grown ups with a job. It might be to tidy your room, set the table for dinner, sweep the floor?
Ask first what they'd like you to do. Let me know in the comments how you get on.
Miss ye loads, let's keep on washing those hands!

Just a quick reminder to tune in to RTE 2 at 11 a.m. today for the first episode of the daily  fun programme 'School on TV'
Also our resident artist Annmarie is keeping busy at home drawing some beautiful pictures. She drew this one for you all to try. Do you get the joke? "Bee Safe"
Have a go!

Hi Everyone
I hope you are all staying safe and well and remembering to wash those hands! In these times when we are being asked to stay at home it is a good chance to try some other things too. Here are some scones I made with my boys, they were very tasty. Yum!
Today I am going to start making this jigsaw - it has 1,000 pieces so should keep me busy for a few evenings
:-)

Here are some ideas for some work to keep you guys busy for a little while every day until we are back together. Parents please remember, as always, these are just suggestions please do not feel under any pressure to do them. I am fully aware of work, financial and stress pressures on families these days. This blog is not meant to add to any existing burdens and is more a way to stay in touch with the boys and girls of Room 15 and suggest some activities to fill their days.
My News
Write about something you did over the weekend and draw a picture (like I did above). Don't forget the date 30/3/20 and your title 'My News'.
As usual remember:
1) Start every sentence with a capital letter and finish with a full stop
2) Tie your letters to  the line
3) Use finger spaces between your words
4) Try to list a couple of things you did e.g. On Friday I ..., On Saturday.. and a wrap up line e.g. It was fun!/ I will do that again soon
Master Your Maths
You can choose to do Monday and Tuesday together or one per day - it is up to you. I will put up the other pages later in the week.
Picture
Here's some hundred square practice. Maybe someone in your home could help you to draw a 100 square on page? Then you can have a go at answering the questions below. You can use any light colours you have, no need to use yellow and blue.
Picture
Fun Activity
Design your own Easter Egg - Take a page and draw a big oval like this. Don't worry it doesn't need to be an exact oval.

Have fun guys and I will be back in touch tomorrow. Feel free to leave me any comments, questions or ideas for other work in the comments section or just say hello :-)

Happy Friday!

 Hi Room 15!
Well done all you who have had a go at some of the activities so far! I managed to add a few skip counting videos below to help with your counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s. We were just starting 4s so don't worry too much about doing these. Don't forget to start at different numbers and always count backwards after going forwards e.g. counting in 10s - 11, 21, 31 and so on and then 32, 21, 11.
English
Let's do a little refresher on our alphabet! Sing along with our Sesame Street friends below and try writing out your alphabet. Take care to check the letters are facing the right way (watch those 'b's and 'd's). You can do this in lower case first then practise your capital letters -
a, b, c, d...
A, B, C, D..
If you want an extra challenge try to come up with a word for each letter and draw a picture.
A - apple
B - bun
I've added one of our Go Noodle favourites below for you , I got my boys to join in with the Moose Cha Cha.
Have a lovely weekend!
I'll be back in touch on Monday.
Don't forget to keep washing those hands for as long as it takes to say the alphabet and try to do something helpful for your parents every day.

Counting Practice

26/3/2020

Counting practice is a daily activity that you can complete with your child at home. The children are used to counting forwards and backwards from 0-100. They are also familiar with skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We were due to start skip counting by 4's so this is something they can practice at home. The videos below should help with this activity

Hi everyone. So lovely to hear from you! Spring has really sprung and I hope you had a chance to get some sunshine yesterday. As usual with any ideas I put up here, parents these are ideas for activities to keep the children busy but there is no obligation to complete these. People are preoccupied with many other things at this time.
Maths
If you can do about five - ten minutes of mental maths per day this is a fantastic way to stay sharp. We have many great "Mathletes" in Room 15! :-)
For today try a little revision of doubles, write them out to help you remember;
1+ 1= 2
2+2=4 up to 10 + 10=20
https://youtu.be/8jOzhiACB68
Listen to the Doubles Song 1- 10 to remind you.
You can also use some of your technology time to visit
www.topmarks.co.uk
We've played some of the many fantastic Maths games in class.
English
As you've probably heard, one of our favourite authors Oliver Jeffers has started a daily storytime reading one of his stories at 6 p.m. each day. Yesterday he read Stuck. Have a listen!
https://www.oliverjeffers.com/books#/abookaday/
Here's your task - see if you can find and tell your family; the characters, the setting, the problem and the solution. Have fun!
P.E.
Our favourite coach Gerry has made a group of videos for some distance coaching. I am having technical difficulties with the videos but will add them later today.
Bye for now! Looking forward to hearing from you in the comments.
If Mams and Dads have time maybe they could help you type me a little message.
Chat soon!
