Hi everyone. Hopefully you have all received your skipping ropes by now. Have a look at Ms McSweeney's wonderful skipping school video below. I got myself an adult skipping rope and am enjoying her skipping lessons. It reminds me of when I was in school. If you'd like to send me a video of you skipping we can put it up on the Skipping School page. Enjoy skipping school and the sunshine! What's in this video?
As you now have your books I'm not going to add extra work on the daily page just choose a page from any of your books for extra activities. Let me know if you need any suggestions or help. Finally a Tongue Twister for today. Slick Trixie, the tricky pixie, picked sticks. Don't forget you have to say it fast. Chat tomorrow. XX Ms Byrne Hi everyone! Well, the big news is that the blue tit fledglings have finally left our nest box. On Sunday evening we noticed the baby birds started to peep out and get more curious about the outside world. Take a look! Yesterday morning when I woke up there was no chirping from the nest but then I found these two on the ground. You have to look closely because they are quite well camouflaged, they blend in with the background. This is a good way for them to hide from their predators the cats and the magpies. I spent a lot of time watching out for cats yesterday. I did some research and I learned that it is very common for some of the babies (fledglings) to not be ready to fly for a couple of days after they leave the nest. I watched the parents swooping down to feed them every few minutes. And the good news is this morning they were flying up on to the clothes line. They are getting stronger and better at flying every hour. I will miss these cute little faces! There is already lots to do in the timetable this week but if you would like an extra activity there is a lovely comprehension text where we read the text and answer the questions called The Nest in our comprehension book. It's on page 21 You'll probably need help reading some of the words. And finally Joke of the Day Question What do you call a cat that plays football? Answer Puss in Boots Chat tomorrow. Take care! XX Ms Byrne Happy Friday Everyone! Thank you Annmarie and Room 15 for the lovely sunflower she gave me from you all! So sweet! I hope you enjoyed getting your books back and your new skipping rope! You may need to shorten the rope if it is tripping you. Thanks so much for your video Freija - super skipping!! For anyone who didn't get to pick up their books there will be another chance Monday 11 - 12. WOW WORK Here is a sample of the wonderful work you boys and girls are doing. Fantastic! Remember if you can send me your work before Friday I will have it up on that week. Also, if you can send it as a photo attachment .jpg I can add it to the slide show. Ionela I have a whole file of your amazing work which I loved reading! Spellings have a go at the Friday spelling quiz. You can do them in your spelling notebook if you like if you got them back yesterday. Remember don't worry about mistakes - we're not at school.
