- A big container to fill with water (a storage box can be brought outside for less mess or you can fill up the sink)
- a large, medium and small container (e.g jug, lunchbox, cup)

Maths language and questions to use...
- Full
- Empty
- Half full
- How many cups will it take to fill the jug?
- Which container holds more/the most?
- Which container holds less?
