Rocket Launch 🚀
Competition Update
Thanks to everyone who has entered the competition so far! Please check May 26th post for further details. Considering there is a bank holiday next Monday, I will announce the winners on Wednesday. Who is going to win?! If you haven't entered, please add your table name, favourite song and/or movie to today's comments section. Here are the results so far:
Dolphins: 3
Jellyfish: 4
Turtles: 3
Did you watch NASA and SpaceX's attempt last night to launch two astronauts to the International Space Station? This was the first time since retirement of the space shuttle in 2011 that humans attempted to fly to the space station from America. Unfortunately weather stopped their attempts with minutes to go! SpaceX is the company who made the rocket (click link box below).
I have attached videos to explain the International Space Station and a recent demonstration video from SpaceX 👇
For all space fans, there will be another launch on Saturday evening at 7.22 p.m.
You can watch it by clicking the link box below. There is live coverage for a few hours before lift-off.
You will be shown how the astronauts get ready to enter the rocket, inside it and all their equipment, along with what their teammates are doing to help launch the rocket. There is also coverage of last night's attempt on the site. Maybe you and your adult helper would like to check it out!

The Solar System
| |
You may recall my blog video (May 11th) on Oliver Jeffer's book 'Here We Are. Notes For Living On Planet Earth'. This showed a picture of the solar system and gave some information on it. I would like you to draw the solar system, with the help of the picture. Then draw your own rocket (see attached template). There is also a writing activity in relation to designing your own planet. |
