We have been learning all about penguins in Room 1 this month. We also read this amazing book Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. We illustrated our favourite part of the story and learned lots about penguins and even some songs about penguins too!

Based on this book, we also talked about the South Pole, the life cycle of a penguin, the body parts of a penguin and what penguins like to eat and we even discovered that sharks and whales like to eat penguins!

The boys and girls in Room 1 love learning Irish and have learned lots of Irish words and phrases since starting school in September. Watch this amazing video of our class singing a song called Calóga Sneachta. Calóga sneachta is the Irish word for snowflakes.
Here are the main lyrics of our song and the main words of the song written phonetically so you can learn Gaeilge too!

calóga sneachta (cal-o-ga sh-noc-ta)- snowflakes
ag titim (egg titch-im) - falling
spéir (sp-air)- sky

I hope you enjoy!!
