Yesterday, all of the boys and girls in our school completed a wonderful winter walk. The boys and girls all wore winter hats and some children even made their own winter hats!
We also got to play instruments on our winter walk- it was so much fun! Check out some of the pictures of all the boys and girls in room 1.
We have been reading Owl Babies by Martin Waddell in room 1 over the last week or two and have really enjoyed this wonderful book. Using this story as a stimulus, we have explored many different aspects of an owl including its the life cycle, what owls eat, where owls live and we also used this book to inspire us in Art. Look a some of our amazing work!
We also recreated the cover of the book Owl Babies using chalk, paper and cotton wool. They look so beautiful- look at some of the children's amazing art work!
This week, we explored making patterns with three colours. We chose to work with the colours green, blue, and yellow. Look at some of the wonderful patterns we made with our partners this week.
Patterns are all around us and making patterns is an important mathematical and life-long skill for children to grasp from a young age. Can you spot any patterns in your own home? Please share them with us here in room 1 we would love to see and hear about any patterns you find!
