We have been reading Owl Babies by Martin Waddell in room 1 over the last week or two and have really enjoyed this wonderful book. Using this story as a stimulus, we have explored many different aspects of an owl including its the life cycle, what owls eat, where owls live and we also used this book to inspire us in Art. Look a some of our amazing work!

This is the our work on the life cycle of an owl. The children had to cut, sequence and paste the life cycle of the owl in order.

The children also chose their favourite part of the story and chose who their favourite owl was in the story and illustrated their opinion. Here are some examples of their amazing work!

Exploring Pattern

This week, we explored making patterns with three colours. We chose to work with the colours green, blue, and yellow. Look at some of the wonderful patterns we made with our partners this week.
Patterns are all around us and making patterns is an important mathematical and life-long skill for children to grasp from a young age. Can you spot any patterns in your own home? Please share them with us here in room 1 we would love to see and hear about any patterns you find!
