Monday!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and got to enjoy some of that lovely sunshine with your families. Happy belated Mother's Day to all the Mammies out there, I hope you were all well taken care of!

Phonics

​Our News

I love hearing about what everyone did at the weekend on a Monday morning. We draw our news into Our News copy every Monday morning and then share with our friends.

My News

This weekend I baked some cakes, I took the dogs for a walk and I did some yoga in the sunshine! 

What did you do? Can you draw a picture of your news? Remember to try and add at least 3 labels (words). If you like you can get someone to record you telling me about your news picture, send me the video I would love to see it.

Adding labels and a sentence. Try add your own labels. Don't worry about spelling, just sound it out yourself and write what you hear. It doesn't have to be perfect just try your best.

Maths - Money

This week we will be looking at money in some of our maths lessons. Have a little search around the house and see if you can find any 1c, 2c, and 5c coins....so all of the copper coins that people usually don't want. We are going to have a little fun with them this week.

Can you answer these questions?

• Where do you get money? Where do Mammys and Daddys get money?
• What do you use money for? Why do we need it?
• What does it look like? Explore a coin and notice the details.
• What colour are the coins in the video?
• What 3 values of coin are copper? 
• Are there any 3c or 4c coins?

Can you have a look at the coins you have found and become investigators! can you spot the differences between them. Can you sort them and the order them? Which set is your biggest/ smallest? Can you sort another way?

Look at the Back!

All of the coins have a special design on the back depending on what country they are from. Investigators get ready!! Turn over your coins and see if you can find any coins with different pictures on the back!
