Homework!

Well done to everyone for completing their homework so well this week. A great start for your first week of homework. I hope everyone enjoyed the time spent discussing the poem and drawing their pictures. As I mentioned before the homework is not meant to be a struggle so please come to me if you are having any difficulty completing it. I understand that phonics may be a little confusing for parents, you may not be familiar with how we teach letter sounds, the Jolly Phonics app is free and helps you with the letter sound. *Remember* We do not teach letter names at this point. It can cause confusion when learning to blend words. The children can colour in a sound each day in their sounds copy but please do not go ahead.

Well done for drawing such super little birds of your own!

The children really enjoyed this week's poem and did a super recital for you here. I can see they've been practicing really hard at home. Well Done!

Maths

This week we were learning all about length. We were comparing socks (clean ones!) using lots of maths language like long/longest, short/shortest. have a go with them at home by measure some things around the house. they should know that they need to measure from the same point to get an accurate measurement.

Aistear Play

Our new topic is School this week and we are learning s much about the people who work in our school and getting to know our new environment. Ask them about the different people who work in our school!

And of course we love any opportunity to bring our maths learning into our play! All that junk art you brought us in is getting great use!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kind Regards,

Ms Murray!

Hi Ms Murray, great job,
Thanks for your effort .
Sajed's homework was in the bag. I asked him to handle it to you,
Tried to learn him the Poem, but seems to me on the blog no joy):
Hope soon will catch up.
Thanks

Hi Ruwida! Oh no... I thought I checked his bag but I must have missed it! Sorry! I'll go over it with him on Monday :) Don't worry about the poem, he'll be absorbing plenty of language just having it read to him and listening to his peers. He's trying so hard and making great progress. :)

How time flies - I can't believe I have missed the blog for 2 whole weeks now. I had a quick peek during a break in work, can't wait to go home so that I can listen to the videos you posted.

Many thanks for all your effort keeping the blog updated, it is truly appreciated on top of everything else you do.
