We have been learning about where Halloween came from and how Barm brack is an Irish tradition, so we decided to bring this yummy tradition into the classroom and have a taste!
This week we had such historic news to write, we decided to share with all you interested Mam's, Dad's, Grannies, Grandads, who ever is reading! Hurricane Ophelia really will go down in history for Ireland, we are lucky to live in a beautiful country where things like this don't come around too often. Glad to hear from the children you all kept safe during the bad weather. On the upside, who would have known we had such professional news readers in room 11? Check out these two!

Some more great news reading! Hopefully we will get around to recording all of the children reading their news :)

We love brain breaks. Here is one we did last week!
IMG_4275 from Suzanne O'Shea on Vimeo. This week instead of doing a sound we are doing all 5 vowels, which are super important as we find them in every single word!! Today we focused on the short sounds they make. We wrote some on the board and went to our books for independent work..
As some of you may know, we have been reading Fantasic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. Last week we did a fun writing activity linked to the book. We had to use clever, descriptive words to help the farmers find and hunt down the fox!
Some of the fun and cheering in the halla today when Sam was with us. UP THE DUBS!
