Hello everybody and welcome back. It has been a busy few weeks for us all!!! Not only have we been so busy being back to school and doing lots of fun activities and work. We also have been in the process of moving classrooms. 😁😁 When we got back to school it was very confusing as we were in our old classroom Room 10 but now we are first class so we are called Room 14. 😃 while in room 10 we did lots of art, reading, writing and of course lots of playful learning. Below are some photos of the work we have done and us in the classroom. We decided to make use of the fabulous sunshine so we took our maths and reading lessons outside. We went on a shapehunt around the yard to see all the places maths can be once we start looking. Then we had some DEAR TIME OUTSIDE. (Drop Everything And Read). Last Thursday we were really lucky and we got to go to the park with Mairead Stack. We went on a nature walk all around Albert College Park. It was a lovely day and we had so much fun looking for signs of Autumn, we collected some leaves to do some leaf rubbings when we got back to class. Last Friday we got word we could go see our new classroom, so the excitement was very real!!! The classroom was still empty at this point but still was so nice to be in it. Then it was teachers job to move all of our furniture, toys and books to our new classroom. This took a very long time but by the end of Friday the classroom was ready for us on Monday. I will be taking a video of the new classroom to post here so that all the parents can get a look inside too!!!!

Virtual School TourUnfortunately this year the children missed out on their school tour which is really sad as it’s the nicest time of year. So I thought it would be fun to have a virtual school tour to a Zoo. Not just any zoo for this school tour we will be travelling to another country. Below I have posted our ticket 😊 and some videos that they provided for us to look at. The website also has lots of other videos and live webcams too. I hope the children enjoy this experience. Also if you want to get to Dublin Zoo during the summer make sure you book your slot. 😃 While you watch the videos from Melbourne zoo I want you to be thinking of some of these questions to answer and try and pick your favourite animal from Melbourne Zoo. 😍 There was so many keeper talks to choose from, I only have picked three below but feel free to watch all the videos on their website. Live WebcamsThey have so many live camera feeds on their website it is worth a visit. I’ve linked below just the penguin one but if you look they have a,so saved loads of live streams too. So I managed to find the recording of Mac Barnett reading the book Chloe and the Lion and he definitely reads it better than I did, so if you like the story listen again down below to his version with some awesome impressions. All of Mac Barnet’s books are on his Instagram tv including his novel series which are amazing I highly reccomend checking them out. I think I will be buying quite a few new books for my library! 😀 Outdoor ChallengeActivity ChallengeMathsThis weeks maths activity is from the Assessment booklet which is the grey one. I would like the class to complete the end of June or Summer Assessment. It is a very short assessment so should take them no time at all.
