Space ProjectToday we are going to begin a project, in first class you will get lots of chances to do project work so this is a good place to begin. Also when I taught in the Senior schools we loved doing projects and presenting them to the class. This is a poster project And I will explain in detail in the video below. As this will take some time and is definitely not a stressful activity you can have a few days to do it. You might need to research some information about Space so this search engine is great for children. I showed an example of searching for information about Mercury below. I have placed the videos below for the solar system, as they contain good information as well. I have provided flash cards.

I hope most of you were able to get your packs from school yesterday, from next week we will begin work on our yearbooks; I will do this with videos. This maths lesson is based on our 100 square, I am going to call out a number and you need to find it on the 100 square and colour in that number! Movement BreakHappy Friday DanceGood morning everybody, I hope you all had a lovely Monday. Apologies for any emails I have not responded too, I have read them all and will be responding today!!! I had a great day yesterday as for the first time in a very long time I was able to make an essential trip into school and into Room 10. While it was very quiet with no one around and no hustle and bustle of all the children it was still lovely to be back in our rooms. I was in preparing packs for the children for parents to collect later in the week (don’t worry as you will see down below in the photos we all maintained social distancing rules and had our masks and gloves on). You will receive a text about this with all the details as each year group has a different time to collect. Please do go in and collect your child’s pack (or have a relative or neighbour get them for you) Along with your children’s artwork, books, folders and copies, I have also included a note for parents, an end of year booklet which we will be using on the blog next week and a certificate for their end of Senior Infants. Hope this will brighten up their days just a little. CalendarDictationHandwritingStory Time; The TwitsMathsNow it is time for some word problems. Below you will find a slideshow of 25 word problems. You do not need to print these out just view the images and the children can answer using a blank page. I hope you are starting to see some improvement with these word problems, if you find any of the sums to easy you can also change them by adding a 10 or 20. Example; there was 5 apples and they bought 12 more. Could be changed to there was 15 apples and they bought 12 more.
GaeilgeLast week we learned some new words for the garden and we revised them plus some new ones yesterday, I am going to post that video again to revise the words and then I would like you to do a simple drawing task for me. For this I will call out a word and I would like you to draw it. I will call out all the words and then at the end I will show each word so don’t worry if you get stuck and forget one just leave it blank and complete it at the end. 😀
